Economist by education and a graduate of New York University, Nasser Al Nowais founded and chaired for 14 years the Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company, the largest hotel and industrial catering company in the region where he acquired a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry.
He was the Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Fund where he administered numerous touristic, industrial and agricultural investments as well as infrastructural projects in the Middle East and Africa. Funds invested exceeded US$ 600 million.
In addition to the prominent functions held in the world of banking, insurance, airline and tourism investment, Nasser Al Nowais was also the Under Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Industry of the U.A.E. Government.

Selim El Zyr

A professional hotelier who graduated from the prestigious L’Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland and studied further at Cornell and Columbia Universities in the U.S.A. with more than 35 years experience in the hospitality industry, Selim El Zyr has worked for 12 years with Hilton International properties in Germany, Spain, Egypt, Canada, U.S.A., Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. He gained invaluable experience in international markets reaching his final position with the chain as Regional Director.
He then became involved in industrial catering and established a leading fast food chain named “Juicy Burger” in Lebanon. He returned to the United Arab Emirates in 1987 and joined the Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company where he eventually became Vice-President of Palmariva and Diar Hotels, managing their properties in the United Arab Emirates and overseas.

Nael Hashweh

With an extensive background in hotel and finance management at the executive level, Nael Hashweh provides the sound financial platform that is essential to successful hotel management. He has held executive financial positions in Jerusalem, the Mariana Islands and Abu Dhabi. After spending 11 years with The Intercontinental Hotel Company, he joined Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company, heading the Departments of Finance and Administration as well as hotel Operations and Controls. In his 10 years of experience with ADNHC, Nael Hashweh has overseen project assessments in over 20 countries in Europe, Asia and North Africa.

Hussain J Al Nowais

A UAE national, born in Abu Dhabi and graduated with a BA degree in Business Administration from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, USA. With over twenty-five years of experience, Al Nowais has been actively involved in setting up new businesses and acquisition of ongoing business. Currently, he is Chairman of Sheikh Khalifa Fund to Support & Develop Small & Medium Enterprises, Emirates Steel Industries (ESI), Oasis Capital, National Petroleum Construction Company “NPCC” as well as Emirates Holdings. He is also Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Basic Industries Corporation “ADBIC”, “ARABTEC” and Abraaj Capital. Furthermore, he is a Board Member of several companies and institutions, such as Abu Dhabi Economic Development Council (ADCED), The General Holding Corporation “GHC”, Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones “ZonesCorp”, Abu Dhabi Ports Company, Shuaa Capital, Invest Bank and Rotana Hotels.

Majid Saif Al Ghurair

Majid Saif Al Ghurair is CEO of Al Ghurair Group of Companies, one of the main business groups of the UAE, with businesses spanning trade, industry, manufacturing and Real Estate. He developped the Group’s key business lines, and became the President of BurJuman Centre and Reef Mall as well as MD of Gulf Extrusions & Arabian Can Industry. He is also the Chairman of Shuaa Capital & Gulf Finance Corp, Board Member of Sh. Mohamed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, Dubai Statistic Centre, Dubai Council of Economic Affairs, Emaar Properties, Damas LLC, National Cement Co and RAK Bank. Furthermore, he was involved in the formation of the Middle East Council of Shopping Centers and is an active member in the World Economic Forum, Arab Business Council, Young Global Leaders and Young Arab Leaders (UAE Chapter). He was voted “Business Leader Personality of the Year 2004” in the United Arab Emirates.

Having worked with Hilton international for 22 years in various fields of Hotel Management, Imad Elias offers a pragmatic approach to International Hotel Management. His extensive experience in the strategic marketing of hotels is critical to the success of Rotana projects. As a former General Manager of Hilton properties in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and most recently as Regional Director for Hilton International Hotel and Resort projects from the planning stage to the construction, commissioning, into final completion and opening.
His experience in Regional Sales and Marketing is particularly relevant to a Rotana management team that succeeds in balancing outstanding levels of hospitality with attractive profitability levels.
